Pediatric Emergency Department

Dr. Maciej Sadowski (Pediatric Emergency Medicine Chair)

Residency (Pediatrics): Janet Weis Children’s Hospital at Geisinger in Danville, PA

Fellowship(PEM): Oishei Children’s Hospital at Buffalo, NY

Pediatrics: Children hold a special place in my heart with their bright smile that make everything better. They are not just little humans with their own special pathologies and complexities. My goal is to give them a voice and make them feel better when they can’t do it for themselves

St. Joe’s: St.Joseph’s is a hospital that has a family feel where I love to come to work every day, but also a well oiled machine that save lives of adults and pediatric patients every day. We care for our medical community no matter how big or small the complaint is and we do it with a smile. I enjoy working here as my peers and my patient make this place what I call a second home.

About our department

The Pediatric Emergency room at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital has an annual patient volume of over 40,000 visits. It provides children with the specialized care they need in a warm and friendly environment. The Pediatric Emergency facility has a separate entrance and waiting room with dedicated registration and triage areas.

The Pediatric Emergency Room at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital is staffed by specialists who are dually trained in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine. The registered nurses and other staff have specialized pediatric training and experience to recognize and treat conditions unique to children 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Upon discharge from the Emergency Room, a discharge summary is sent to the treating Pediatrician to ensure continuity of care.
